Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Chatleon (“the Service”), creating an account, or clicking “Create account,” you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Chatleon is a document intelligence platform that allows users to upload files and interact with their content through a conversational AI interface. The Service includes document processing, chat functionality, API access, and embeddable widget features depending on your subscription plan.

3. Accounts and Registration

You must create an account to access the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, or infringes any third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying models or infrastructure
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without written consent
  • Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Intentionally circumvent rate limits or quotas

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through LemonSqueezy. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Billing page. Upon cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which it downgrades to the Free tier. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all documents and content you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant Chatleon a limited license to process, store, and use that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your documents to train AI models or share them with other users. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any content you submit.

7. AI-Generated Responses and No Professional Advice

The Service uses large language models to generate responses based on your uploaded documents. By using the Service, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading, even when based on your own documents.
  • The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, or any other form of professional advice. No AI response should be construed as such.
  • You are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it for any decision.
  • Chatleon makes no warranty, express or implied, that AI responses are accurate, suitable for your purposes, or free from errors.
  • You assume all risk arising from your use of or reliance on AI-generated content.

Chatleon expressly disclaims all liability for any decisions made, actions taken, or outcomes resulting from your reliance on AI-generated responses.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Chatleon does not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable, or that any errors will be corrected. Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Chatleon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or any other commercial or economic damages, regardless of the theory of liability.
  • Chatleon shall not be liable for any damages or losses resulting from your reliance on AI-generated content, document processing errors, service interruptions, or unauthorized access to your data by third parties.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Chatleon in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain types of liability. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
